Can I use shea body butter on my hair?
Can I use shea butter on my face?
Not recommended. My butters do contain fragrance and/or essential oils which may not work for your face which is usually more sensitive than the skin on your body.
When should I apply shea body butters?
A good time to apply shea butter is immediately after drying off from a bath or shower when your pores are open and the shea butter will be absorbed best but it will work anytime.
Are your shea body butters whipped?
No. Whipping anything (egg whites, mashed potatoes, shea butter) adds a lot of air into the product making it lighter. The bad news is that when you buy a whipped butter you’re getting mostly air. I decided to stick with a non-whipped butter so you’re getting all of the good stuff in each jar.

Why does unscented shea butter smell bad?
Whew chile! Blame it on nature. Many natural things that are good for us don’t smell so great – broccoli is another example. Shea butter in its natural form has a nutty, “earthy” scent which I’m not a fan of at all. But the natural scent is far outweighed by it’s benefits for our skin so I was determine to figure out a way to make shea butter not just tolerable but enjoyable. Thus scented shea butters were born.
Why is shea butter grainy?
If shea butter melts and is allowed to cool slowly it likes to form crystals which make it feel grainy. My solution for this is to cool it quickly making it smooth and creamy. Should your butter be left in a hot car, just put it in the freezer for about 45 minutes and voila – smooth and creamy once again.
